I hope not, the 24" panel is not as good as the 23"
I bet you see a lot of complaints regarding photo editing on the 24" iMac. The screen is way too bright, and you cannot dim it enough for true color reproduction. This is an issue that is well known with the 2407 from dell. I am assuming it is the same panel.
I am sure someone has a 24" S-IPS panel.LGs doesnt say if it is or not.
It would be nice to see Apple make it 24" though, but if the current panels dont permit them to do it at the same quality, I am fine with it staying the same.

So lets see, I just bought a new mac book however I really don't like the built in antenna for some unknown reason and I go to walmart and buy an external card not made by apple. I then go the airport, where I'm hacked and my life is ruined there is no going back. Riiiiiiiiight.
What a crock, the odds of someone getting hacked is about .1% or less. What gets headlines? A Mac getting hacked not windows who cares. These guys are tools, and I love the links to the ads & the ad in the video they make you watch. Nice touch, way to make money off of Apples good name.

So, I had the RSS issue on 10/26, it was the first time, I was installing a Linux OS using Parallels, and off went the machine. I've read so much about this matter that I called Applecare, and after a few minutes on the phone, the proposed resolution was to send it in. The box arrived 10/27, and as of today 10/30 and according to my repair status online, Apple has the PC and it is being worked on.
I find it strange that Apple didn't want me to try the firmware upgrade on 10/26, but it could have been a timing issue related to when the firmware was released. I'll post again when I get the Macbook back. BTW, I did tell Apple that it was in pristine condition, and I expect it to be the same when it is returned.

well I think an upgrade to C2D is significant (to me at least) and for my pocket - I was always going to have to get 1gig RAM and pay extra for it - now I don't have to spend that money - it comes stock
The slight bump in stock HD offerings isn't a want of mine - but is nice.
Primarily I'm excited about this revision - as it is a revision and hopefully will have less issues than the problematic-appearing revA MB.
If you plan to upgrade the RAM anyhow - go for the 2.0 model. It has Superdrive (DL), 1 Gig RAM, 4 MB Processor cache (instead of 2MB for the 1.83) and bigger HD.
The 1.83 Model is CRAP :eek:

It would be cool if you could buy comics this way as well. Maybe when you buy a physical comic, it could give you a code to enter at the iTMS (iTunes Media Store) to download a CBR version of it.

I'd love to be able to pony up some amount of money and have, say, the entire run of X-Men at my disposal for reading. And controlling the DRM on a comic would be easier than that of music, or even text.

Hmmm...... If you look closely at the banner photo you'll see the "64-bit" logo is awfully close to the photo of the iMac. The current Intel iMacs are not 64-bit since the Core Duo (1) processers are 32-bit. Could this mean that the iMacs are going to get the new Core Duo 2 processers, which just happen to be 64-bit.

SIRI rocks! The BEST, by far, voice recognition right out of the gate I have EVER tried-it is quite amazing and I wish Apple all the best integrating it-great choice! Put it into a remote control to provide functions- "turn to sports channel" " record this movie" "next, previous" etc.............

The vast majority of their sales are to less-technology/gadget-savvy users who have bought their Mac because of other people telling them that Macs are good, rather than the hardware, specs, or software on the computer.
In the end, it is all marketing... which is the case with most of Apple's products.
They have been selling PC hardware now for years at a higher price than their competitors.
Windows 7 isn't any worse (or better) than MacOS for browsing the web or checking email.....
so its not the OS that is influencing soccer moms and emo kids to buy Mac either.
It is the 'cool' factor, IMO
