I've never liked walmart --- it's sooo creepy; even creepier than rite aid, the dress barn, and guns'n'ammo combined.
I don't see why they're freaking out about this; i wouldn't see iTMS being such a threat to their customers who seem to be pennypinching old ladies that don't know whether it's tuesday or december.

The vast majority of gun incidents and stabbings happen within gangs, it's the parents fault for not educating their child to keep away from them. I know for instance that stabbings in London is highly overstated, in that London I think is the most populated capital in Europe and so it's inevitable for these frequent occurrences.
I don't consider London particularly dangerous, as long as you stay away from the places notorious for having yobs and gangs during the evening.

I'm hoping this is an April Fool and someone just got their date a bit wrong. I really don't like 3D and I absolutely hate the 3D bandwagon that seems determined to ram the technology down our throats. It's terrible. My eyes are not fooled by 3D effects. I'm hoping this is just an effort to get everyone to buy an iPad 2.

As many others have pointed out, this isn't the event it's being made out to be. The fact it's a macbook is pretty much an irrelevance.

Apple just a few days ago released Mac OS X 10.6.7 and was only 475MB, and the Combo update was only 1.12GB. Mac OS X 10.6.6 brought the Mac App Store and was only 143MB.
I don't know why your updates are 4GB.

I'm curious. Anybody know where all that money goes? How much does Apple (the computer company) get vs. music companies vs. the two remaining Beatles? I heard that Michael Jackson owned the rights to a lot of Beatles songs - and now he's gone too. Any place this can be looked at?

I believe, as scripture details, that God established a covenant with Abraham and from this covenant the Jewish nation was born.
So the all-powerful super-being took a particular interest in Abraham's plight and no other (we could in theory suggest that the deity might have tried with others but Abraham was his first real success, which would neither improve nor detract from the story). Another mythical creature that should be easily recognizable. Unlike the unicorn, I was able to get into a good position and fit the entire Pegasus in the frame. I'm glad because I really liked the dynamic pose.

The ClickWheel "interface" of the classic is a royal pain in the back when you have to navigate through thousands of titles.
It's easy to navigate with the click wheel if your songs are properly tagged. I'd rather use it than the iOS iPod app. :)

Switched to macs back in 2001 and while I love the OS I have had a continuous stream of hardware problems with all apple products I have bought:
iBook G3: logic board died and replaced 3 times
iMac G5: CPU got so hot the machine almost melted! So far I have had the logic board replaced 3 times.
MacBook: Random shutdown syndrome, faulty mouse and track pad, palm rest discoloration. Currently in for repair again!
iPod: hard disk and battery both died
EDIT: and don't get me started about the abomination that is the so called mighty mouse. The thing barely lasted a week!
Apple have really got to get there quality control sorted out. So what if the OS is great if the continual hardware faults mean you can't actually use the damn thing!
One cheesed off mac user.

you guys are arguing over nickels and dimes when it really comes down to preference. people who like os x buy it. people who like windows buy it. they dont sit and think about the cost difference between the two for the most part.
i thought die hard mac os freaks loved it for its functionality and stability, not its price advantage? and windows haters just hate windows no matter what. good for them. im a big whore and ill get the benefits of both. ;)

I've always been a huge fan of clean desktop setups, not much of a laptop or all-in-one guy, as I like ease of upgrading and replacing things, and while the Mac Mini was far from that, its a good medium, as its cheap(er) compared to the rest of the mac lineup, and is cheap enough that in 2-3 years I don't mind dropping the cash on another one. Also like doing some semi-pro/hobby image editing, so the 20" Cinema Display is great for me.

Don't like that electric blue note icon at all - reminds me of the Manchester City strip from a couple of years back before we reverted to sky blue. But maybe it will look better on the super screen of my MB... WHEN IT ARRIVES! I ORDERED IT A MONTH AGO APPLE, AND IT STILL ISN'T HERE!

Much faster. Even the 7300GT is significantly better.
Anyway, of the two NEW edition to the lineup, the 17" GMA iMac is much more important to Apple's well being. Why? Volume. They're going to sell ten of them for every 24". The 24" is a silver bullet machine. It's really cool looking, but I don't see many plunking down $2000 on a family computer. It's not going to really appeal to professionals or prosumers either because of its feature set.

Since Core 2 Duo is 64-bit, there's really no reason to wait if you need/really want a new computer right now.
