The LX5 with wide angle conversion lens will go down to about 18mm. But it's not exactly compact. 24mm without it is still pretty wide though.

There is no Apple store near Green Bay, WI (nearest is in Milwaukee) so the only real option is the AT&T store at Bay Park Square Mall. I've got confirmation that the store is opening at 7am. However, the manager stated that he did not know how Mall Security would handle people waiting in line prior to mall opening. He did say that during the 3Gs launch people were allowed to park in the parking lot around 4am (said nothing about waiting by the doors to the mall). Since this is an enclosed mall store opening it does have its challenges. Which mall doors will open first, etc.
Anyway, I'm going to be doing repeated drive bys through out the overnight (from midnight on) and as soon as I see people waiting I'm heading on in. Will probably wait by the main doors by the food court. We will see how it goes from there.
I'll be checking with Mall Security on Wednesday to get updated information. I'll post what I find out.

They suck!
No not really, I prefer the one that looks like an "o" better though. But the concept seems a like far from Apple and macrumors. I mean, a rollercoaster? where's the link? The whole MacCoaster seem stretched. But they still look cool :)
The avatars don't have to have anything related to MacRumors. My #1 and #3 have more relevance in that area, but this one is just something to show the meaning of my nickname.

The iEmulator site admits it's built on top of qemu. What's the big deal here, hm?
From the FAQ:
If that is true, and they abide by the license, then absolutely nothing.
I have no interest in the product, and haven't checked the site out. By the tone of previous comments I got the impression other people felt something shady was going on.

Are they retail discs? Because you can't use a grey restore disc from a dissimilar machine to install OS X.

the Switcheasy NeoTouch puts your iPod at around the thickness of an iPhone 3Gs. not super slim, but pretty decent (slimmer than both the Rebel or the Torrent). i can attest to its quality and protection! otherwise check out their Nude.

I bet with the grain, this would be amazing (equally) as a B&W.
I took a quick look using Preview. There is enough texture and shape that it looks passable in B&W, but the color really makes the photo. The composition just seems a bit off for B&W - too centered and not enough negative space, maybe. Not a professional either, but I used to shoot almost everything in B&W.
It is a really good shot, Joseph.

Your phone isn't software unlockable. You will have to use a greavy sim or rebel sim. Just google for those.

Anyone planning to head to the AT&T in Stow? I'm torn between there, Chapel Hill AT&T and Legacy Village Apple Store.

I've been hesitant to ask this, but it's finally bugged me enough, and I've had too many fruitless searches that here goes. Is there someone out there that can tell me how to turn off the iPhoto autorun for when you connect a digital camera? I can't find the option anywhere for the life of me, and I'm wishing I hadn't selected the option for it to open iPhoto every time I connect my camera the first time I did it. I didn't think it'd be permanent.
Much thanks in advance

Sorry for not getting back to the question. I lost track of the thread I made.
Again, I should have been clearer on another thing. That empty wall, up top, to the left of the door, is actually a double door closet, so I cant put anything there either.
I think I am just going to go with option 2. I will have three days off for new years, so Im going to do the whole room over. Here are the problems:
1. I have one of those huge Ikea posters of London on the wall, which has to be moved now.
2. I have a bar thats screwed into the wall, that I have my sunglasses on. Its one of those bars that you get from Ikea, that you hang magnets on. Its above the radiator now, and, A. its not centered after putting up the new radiator, and B. Im afraid the heat from the radiator will damage the glasses. After I move that, I have to plaster the holes again, and move a mirror that i have to that spot.
3. I set up my airport extreme on the long dresser, with all the wires connected beautifully on the back of the dresser, and underneath. That has to be done over cause that dresser will be moved.
I wish I could move the computer desk, but I have the iMac attached to the wall, with external speakers attached on the sides. I have piping on the wall to hide all the wires, and I painted them the same color as the wall, so they blend in better. By moving the desk to the left, closer to the smaller closet doors, the iMac will be a bit off-centered with the desk, but that is something I am going to have to deal with.
This is probably going to be a good day and a half job, but I like doing things like this. I just hope I measured everything right, otherwise its going to be a lot of moving for nothing lol.

Today i purchased a Linksys WRT54. The service isn't as good as I hoped for, doesn't quite cover my home, so i'll probably be returning it tomorrow for something more powerfull and consistent.
Do you guys have any suggestions for wireless routers?? Ones with good range and good little to no dropped signals?
I've been happy with the WRT54G Routers that I've set up and used.
Make sure you flash update it to the latest version.
Make sure the signal strength is maxed out.
If it does not have enough signal strength for your home, this may be a problem with other wireless routers as well. You might want to get a repeater to extend the range.
Also, location is key. Metal/Rebarb/Iron can really affect the range of wireless.
Netgear makes some good products as well.

Click, and click everywhere! If it appears it can be clicked, click it. If it appears it can't, click anyway.
I learnt Mac OS X back in 2001 by myself just by experimenting and exploring. There is very little in Mac OS X that you can damage irreparably simply by fiddling unless you are a Unix freak.
MacOSXHints.com and friends were my best bet for hard to work out problems and never be afraid to ask a Mac user a question, they are generally quite friendly and willing to help you out.

Thanks for injecting politics where it doesn't belong. Frankly, you shouldn't be voting if you don't even know that it's Democrats.
There is no direct impact on their bottom line because, unlike Sam's Club, Costco doesn't make a dime on any of the products they sell, only the membership fees. Of course there is indirect negative impact if the sole reason you would become a member was to buy an iPad, but I'm willing to bet the number of people who would do that is negligible.
That is the most absurd insane thing I've heard in quite a while.Care to prove me wrong?

You can put it on your imac/transfer it, but you can't put it in a queue behind the WU it is doing now. When your iMac has finished its WU and send it to Stanford, stop the folding client and replace the following items in your fah folder from your powerbook:
- work folder
- unitinfo.txt
- queue.dat
- fahlog.txt
Start your client again and it should go further with the WU. You might need to restart your iMac to use the extra altivec boost.

No, the connectors are completely different. The MacBook Air charger looks like MacBook and MacBook Pro chargers. The iPad charger is more like an iPhone/iPod Touch charger, I believe.

Wow, that really hurts to be that guy.
I never actually clicked the link or read the article,
but by scimming everyones responses i gather
it was pretty tuff for the college student.
Truly, a damn shame.

Viewers actually started to side with Windows because of his lovable underdog persona. Attacking your competitor is a double-edge sword.
To be honest those ads didn't improve my faith in Apple or what I think of them - I just found them entertaining. The PC character was good with his dry sense of humor too, although the Mac character was a bit sickly.
What I find good is when companies poke fun at themselves. Fox does that TONS on The Simpsons.
