Foxcom is a Taiwanese company. We have done a h..l of a lot for Taiwan. Why in the h..l can't they invest the $12 billion to build a manufacturing facility in the USA?
Its unbelievable that these companies don't even consider investing in the USA. I am about ready to boycott anything manufactured by Foxcom!

i think i would rather read a paperback
wouldnt the screen strain the eyes?
I have seen ebooks in the past, of course a few years ago, but the eye strain was there. Sony has a new one, but they don't have a backlight, so they say it is just like reading a book. The cost of the books is what bothers me. For that amount, I like a hard copy on my office bookshelf.

Nice systems. Just hope we get Macbook/Pro and iPod updates soon! (Especially if they count as finally fixed rev. 'b' versions!)
It's nice to FINALLY see a decent GPU in an iMac (the Geforce 7600GT). I think this is the first time, though it's really overpriced if you're getting that model. Still, exciting updates for the iMac and Mac Mini!

Take a look at this comparison chart.
http://www.zunescene.com/comparison/
Why dosn't the ipod connect to the Xbox marketplace? :p
and whats a "unique online tag"?
also look @ the official site:
https://www.comingzune.com/
Strange thing making beeping noises. that 'cool'.
those sites are all run by MS.
the screen? same res as the iPod, so it will look crappy as the pixels will be stretched to fit the screen.

My experience supports food stamps being wasted as well. While I have never seen or heard of people selling them, I did work in a grocery store as a cashier for a while and consistently saw people use food stamps to purchase food items which were overpriced, low value, not on sale, or otherwise terrible "value for money" purchases. Fancy fruit drinks or other things which are a complete waste of money when you have a limited budget for food were incredibly common.
Not to mention how often people would pay for some ridiculously overpriced luxury food items with food stamps and then pay cash for things like cigaretts or the rag magazines or other things which are equally unnecessary, and completely, 100% luxury items and not in the slightest bit a need.
Considering this was the overwhelming majority of customers, I am so thankful to the woman who came and purchased a ton of items, all on sale, with coupons on food stamps. She probably got 10x or 20x the "food value" from those food stamps as compared with the overwhelming majority of people using them. But seeing that one person take advantage of food stamps in a meaningful way was absolutely amazing because it means that the entire program is not a waste.
Now, obviously this is just my personal experience. It is possible the store I worked at had a disproportionate number of people who would squander their food stamps. I hope this is the case. But I am relatively skeptical the majority of food stamp purchasers are like the woman I described but rather like the majority I encountered.
My neighbor, who is a manager at a Kroger (a grocery store) has told me the same thing.

What a fabulously foolish and ignorant statement.
I've known several people who have died in car accidents therefore most people die in car accidents .
I personally live in the middle of Richmond VA which is filled plenty of lower class African Americans, who I walk by on my way to school every day. And in the last three years no one has offered to sell me food stamps. Therefore no one EVER abuses the food stamp program .
If you can't produce some statistical data than your just making **** up.
I can't produce numbers, so I'm just making it up. That is a very stupid statement, you just made. I didn't mention the race of the people that wanted to sell me food stamps. For the record, most of the time, it has white people that I know.
You bringing up race, is just your foolish way to try to discredit me. My opinion that food stamps are abused by most, is by observing what strangers in the check out, are buying with food stamps, and seeing what people I know, bring home.

I am for and against flash on the iPhone. There are times when I will be away from a computer and need to view a site that happens to be flash based and it frustrates me when I attempt to view it on my iPhone. At the same time, there are a lot of annoying flash based ads and other garbage that I do not care for or want to see on my iPhone.

Sorry, but for me this story doesn't pass the sniff test.
Since it's a page 2 story, I think the editors think the same.
Great PR story if true...
I think it's actually true. It just seemed more casual/fluffy than our usual front page stories, which is why it got to page 2.

Thats no true.
Apple just a few days ago released Mac OS X 10.6.7 and was only 475MB, and the Combo update was only 1.12GB. Mac OS X 10.6.6 brought the Mac App Store and was only 143MB.
I don't know why your updates are 4GB.
He didn't mean the Mac OS; he meant an app he bought from the App Store that was 4GB.
D.

Same here! It's an "Apple" product with a "666"MB OS...anyone else thinking that's strangely close to a story with a snake in a garden? Haha. Kinda interesting.
They like that number; the original Apple I cost $666.66. :)

I think if you asked most of the population, the vast majority would find it 100% reasonable and appropriate that any retail company, in any business sector, decides what they will or won't sell in their store - be it WalMart, The Gap, Starbucks, or your local corner grocery store. Apples retail store is just that... a retail store --- and the norms of business retail don't go away, to be replaced by a magical la-la land where people get to do whatever they want.
In your case though, companies have alternatives to get their product out. The App store is virtually a monopoly. So, a company could spend months developing an app and have it rejected for any reason. Then, they would have no alternative to make the development cost back.
We were affected by the Three20 project rejections also. It cause a delay for us which in turn caused a delay to a client. They weren't too happy about it. That said, we tell all clients that we do not control Apple's process and the risk of delays is there.
It is frustrating and hopefully they make a change soon to alleviate some of these problems.

Does anyone know the answer to this?
There's precious little details on what the actual exploit is, so no.. I don't think anyone here knows, yet.

Madoff wasn't in the government. That had nothing to do with the government (other than showcasing the joke our regulation system has become) so bringing it up doesn't even make sense.
As for the G20, do things like that happen often in Canada?
Also, we need to stop flip flopping between talking about Canada and the USA, or at least do a better job of distinguishing the two when putting numbers out there as it gets confusing.
I only used Madoff as an example as to how 65 Billion could easily just get squandered and disappear. The Government crooks seem not to get caught as easily as him.
As for flip flopping Canada and the US ... I think both countries are similar as to how our Governments waste money.
IMO the answer to our countries sinking financially rests with reckless spending and the answer is not drastically cutting the big services like Military, Education, Healthcare and such.
There is too much Government feeding at the trough on both sides of the border.

I've got crap eyes but 3D works fine for me. I'd so be up for this, infact it'd push me to actually buy an iPad.
Love the 3D display on my 3DS. I don't like going back to 2D displays now (at least on gadgets/toys).

I realize that some people want X, Y, Z now! For myself, I can wait for new hardwareprobably until iPhone 6 (or 5 if the next one is 4G)as I like to get several years of use out of it. Heck, I just decommissioned my iBook G4 last year. What Im excited to see is what iOS 5 will bring. This is how Apple will have dominance over Android phones.
As for waiting ~ 3 more months, while Im not a blind Apple lap dog, I have a certain amount of faith that they know what theyre doing. I think that Steve, the master of shrewd and manipulation, has taught his disciples well.
