I bet those four people who bought a Zune are going to be pissed!
Yes, like *this* will push them over the edge. They were doing fine with their clunky rubber-buggy brown players with four-way jog wheels, no PFS support, and installation failures, but when the Beatles aren't available, god will they suffer! :D
I could care less about the Beatles, but if this means the whole "Apple" issue is amicably and finally resolved, then I think it's outstanding. :)

I read my Verizon TOS. Then I called since I am considering adding a line. Unfortunately they don't grandfather their plans. However after I spoke with a supervisor, I understand how they have their data only, structured. It's very smart of them, designed to make money for Verizon, without adding complications for the customer.
In the ten years I've been with them about the only drawback is they do tend to be the most expensive. But you get what you pay for. So now I'm clear that unlimited is month to month and can be eliminated at any time. I'll enjoy it while it lasts.
Well I'm pretty sure that if they change your data plan, you are allowed to opt out of contract without paying ETF.

Most iPods are used in situations where our eyes aren't free to focus on a screen however good--commuting, jogging, biking or whatever. To compete with ebooks from Sony and others, this ebook iPod needs to be able to read text aloud as well as display it on screen.
It also needs to bookmark text and audio files well, so we can resume where we left off and shift between reading and listening without losing our place. And that means multiple bookmarks, not just a mark for the last place we were. (Marking text like a post-it note would also be a plus.)
In addition, iTunes needs to be able to download text books and newscasts (free and by subscription) as easily and automatically as it now does podcasts. Pushing content is always better than pulling it.
Those are things existing ebooks don't do. Add those features to an ebook iPod, and Apple will be miles ahead of the competition. Sony and (soon) Microsoft will be eating their dust.

Ultimate usage of my Apple stuff: iPad as excellent calculator during making my homework for math, in a perfect viewing angle thanks the Apple iPad case (I own since today, excellent case). MBP used as music player for the relaxing during making homework thanks to iTunes. iPhone used as camera. Love my Apple stuff!

You don't make billions if no one is buying your product.
What if they don't have any choice but to buy your product? All of the Windows OEMs are instant customers for Vista, whether they like it or not. This is how the system works for Microsoft.

Can you name off some of those sites and give their web address. Anyone else have sites they can name? I would like to see how much the lack of Flash on the iPhone cripples a web site. - thanks.
BBC News, New York Times, Le Monde, CNN, CBC, ABC News, Welt Online, El Pais, etc.... (and hundreds - thousands? - of others).
Oh yes, and practically all live-TV and TV-catchup websites...

Exactly! And not only video video tag support but the whole HTML5. Much faster and cleaner and ready to replace this flash crap. Good thing Apple is so large that they can actually transform whole markets.
I'd argue that it's not "ready." HTML5 is a working draft, and video tag codec support is still one of those items that is not entirely settled. I'm all for getting every browser to implement it and maybe even start using it after a specific browser/codec check, but fallback is still going to be flash for the time being.

YEP I'm ready too....i5/i7 would be a great refresh - the politics with upgrading every tuesday kills us all. PC's are far ahead right now in terms of processors. I went through the models and upgrade strategies here (http://macreviewz.blogspot.com/2010/02/quad-core-mac-book-pro.html) on my blog.
I'm willing to bet money that there will be no quad-core i5s or i7s in the MBPs this time around.
And do you really think that Apple is worried that dual-core mobile i5s and i7s are going to cannibalize Xeon-based Mac Pro sales? That's one of the craziest things I've ever heard.

i thinking of getting an ipod but i need to know your opinion of it should i stick with an mp3 player? what can an ipod do that an mp3 player can't?
You might want to take this to a new thread.
That said, an iPod is an "MP3 player", but one that has a great user interface and complete integration with iTunes and the iTunes Music Store where you can buy music, audiobooks and even videos.

I'm just going to throw this very quick (and shoddy) rendering I made into the mix, portraying a possible "tabletop" iMac.

I don't know the answer to question one, but the answer to the second question is yes. On top of that, the rate of conviction of blacks is higher.
It was ONE question, not a first and a second one. Whatever somebody answers to only the second half of it, is totally meaningless as long as the answer to the first half is not "yes".

I ordered a 30GB iPod and the standard white 1,83Ghz Macbook on September 2nd, and it said it was due to ship out on the 13th. I therefore thought that they'd upgrade the iPod (more likely than the MB) before sending it to me, but I just got an e-mail saying it shipped today.
Bit bummed that I didn't get the upgrade (well, I can only presume), but at the same time stoked to get my Macbook and iPod more than a week earlier than I first thought!
Just FYI.
Interesting. I ordered a custom black macbook last tuesday, along with a 30GB personalized ipod... got the ipod on thursday, and my macbook isn't due to arrive til the 13th. I wonder if mine shipped today too. Update:Nope, still hasn't shipped. Darn me for custom ordering it... ;-)
I too was hoping to get an upgraded iPod, but hey, no worries. My first iPod and I'm lovin it. Be nice if my MacBook comes with a Core 2 though >.> (wishful thinking)

The wait is killing me and my MacBook. My poor machine is dying slowly and painfully. The palmrest has chipped again, the processor is burned out, the fans are loudly overturning to try and keep the processor from overheating only to fail when the processor gets to 87 and the computer shuts itself down to save itself from burning up. The battery "needs servicing". It's a mess. I have waited patiently for a new machine, and will wait patiently for a little while more, but I really hope they come soon.
I am waiting for the 13" Pro's. But if the 15" is enticing enough I might go for it instead. At this point I don't even care what updates we get. As long as it's something.
Also, who needs USB3 right now? I haven't even seen any peripherals that use it that I would buy. And I'm not ready to pay a premium for them right now either. I'm fine with USB2 for a while longer.
I have $1100 coming to me from the government. I want to give it to you, Apple. Just release them new machines!

Figures they'd try to go after something that isn't written into the OS since we all know how hard that is.
Do you know what a computer without drivers is? A paperweight. The OS is not a single monolithic thing; it's made up of many components. The notion of what is "written into the OS" is more complicated than you seem to think, and it's childish to dismiss a vulnerability because it's in a driver.
They simply chose a Mac to be a cock. How's that for smugness?
Actually it's the smug attitude of so many Mac owners that makes them such satisfying targets. You reap what you sow. I've been using Macs since 1984 (and PCs about as long) and Mac users get on my nerves sometimes.

Let's just wait to see how long it will take for Apple to supply an update to fix this problem. I'm betting it won't take long.
Edit: seems it's already fixed.
Edit 2: It's a USB wireless card hack? Oh wow, ALL THE MACBOOK USERS ARE IN DANGER! RUN AWAY!
Edit 3: in other news, putting your Macbook in the oven at 300 celcius for 5 hours WILL BURN IT! APPLE HARDWARE IS FLAWED!

As pointed out on the flickr on appleinsider: the speakers of the macbook pro on the banner are smaller than they are on the 15''
http://www.apple.com/macbookpro/gallery/qtvr15.html
Nope. They are not smaller - it's simply a matter of perspecitive, at this angle everything looks taller than wider - see the little iSync icon beside it ... you can tell it's not perfectly round but taller instead of wider. Same Macbook Pro, different perspective.
To test this ... pull up that MacBook gallery page you provided a link to, now stand to the left side of your monitor and look at it from the side ... it'll look just like the one on the poster.
